Rebecca Chew designs, illustrates, photographs and writes. She currently art directs the Opinion pages of The New York Times. Previously she art directed The California Sunday Magazine and Pop-Up Magazine. She also served as the art director and photo essay editor at Esquire in Malaysia and Singapore.

Her work has been recognized by the Society of Publication Designers. She was also a judge in the Society for News Design annual print competition.

In 2016 she was selected to participate in the Angkor Photo Workshop where she was mentored by Newsha Tavakolian and Sim Chi Yin.
